Dork Tower, Monday, May 12
Today's cartoon got up late, but click Here, there or anywhereto see it.

I'm pretty chuffed with it. Just wish I'd had it more together to post earlier in the morning.

****

Late night, last night.

Flight of the Conchords were brilliant, but the sold-out audience had its fair share of douchewits, the sort of people who shout out random bits of nothingness because they apparently believe a thousand people came to hear them, not the performers.

Best surprise: second-row balcony seats are actually very, very good at Milwaukee's Much-Larger-Than-I-Thought-It-Would-Be Riverside Theater.Second-best surprise? The opening act was Arj Barker (Dave from the HBO series), doing a quite good stand-up routine.

Worst mistake: hitting George Webb's for a burger after the gig (simply because I'd never had a George Webb burger). I know they're kind of a Milwaukee institution. They're cheap, but just not very good.

Still, the Conchords show was long, hilarious, and some of the new material was inspired - even if Jemaine and Brett seemed to have a bit of difficulty figuring either the new songs or the new instruments out from time to time.

Would it be churlish to express disappointment that some fan favorite songs were missing ("Beautiful Girl," "She's So Hot, Boom," and "Foux De Fa Fa" being the obvious ones)? Possibly. But "Jenny," "Think About It, Think Think About It," "A Kiss Is Not A Contract," "Albi" and "Hiphopapotamus v Rhymenocerous" (amongst many, many others) all made for an enormously satisfying - if generously late - evening.

Very, very best part of the evening? Seeing Judith enjoy the show so enormously, from start to finish.

And yesterday, I was on a garage sale, and I came to think about you: there was this guy, selling a lot of RPG, cards, and others stuff, and his wife behind him looking triumphant... I started to browse and that gal hit on me: "looking for some way to get your boyfriend out of your feet?"
and me "No, m'am, I'm looking for buying me something actually."
I thought she was going to swallow her tongue! :)
Hey, you know what? We, gamers tolerant girlfriends, are an hell of a treat!
Yay for Judith, yay for all the others and yay for me!

Have a nice day!

The real question is whether it would be scarier if McCain *weren't* losing it, or if he were?

Would it be bad of me to point out a typo? I think you meant "then" not "the" before GTA.

Otherwise, thats fantastic :)

George Webb was once described to me by my father as the greasiest of greasy spoons.

Today's comic is brilliant. The WGH will love it.

I could have warned you against George Webb, especially the one in downtown Milwaukee.

Wish the Conchords' tour had some more dates. Closest one to me is Columbus, and that is 4 hours away.

I saw Eddie Izzard in Indianapolis this weekend and there were the same interrupting douchebags there.

For a moment, I was worried someone was going to walk into my cube and be sure that some tragedy had befalling my family. I was laughing very hard, and nearly crying from the laughter and probably looked like I was balling.

I'm sure you'll take that as the compliment it was intended to be.

Minor Candidates

The only way it could be more fun is if you did some of the minor candidates. Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party, Gene Amondson of the Prohibition Party, Ralph Nader (again). Mike Gravel needs attention too! <grin>
